Default Usb Flash Drive Unknown Device

Hello All I got this 1gb flash drive from my job and when I use it the pc says that an unknown device is attatched. No it did not come with any drivers. Any tips? Thanx

Yes it most likely does not have the drivers for your OS. What flash drive is it and what OS are you running?

It does not appear to work on any pc with windows or ubuntu

If it doesn't work in any other Windows or Ubuntu computer, that'd mean it's probably a bad flash drive. All the flash drives I've used are just plug and play (search for USB drivers already on the computer) in both Windows and Ubuntu, and work right away.

Except some drives either don't come with drivers or the preloaded driver file is corrupt.

Preloaded driver wouldn't be a problem on multiple Windows machines and Ubuntu. So at this point, it could be 2 options, no drivers on the flash drive, or a bad drive.
