Hi,
When I plug a USB device into my computer I am prompted to connect to Windows Update to search for drivers. Having done so, the computer connects, searches for and begins downloading the drivers required, but after a few seconds I am faced with the message:
There was a problem installing this hardware:
"
An error occured during the installation of the device
The data is invalid.
"
Then every time I plug in the device again, instead of the USB ding sound, I get a low triple 'dududu' sound. Using device manager I can uninstall the device and try again but the same thing happens.
I have recently re-installed Windows XP on my comuter and downloaded SP2 from Windows Update, so I see no reason why there should be any USB driver issues. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled all USB 2.0 drivers but this has failed to work.
Can anyone help with this please!?
