usb device question

ok my external hdd is reading on my computer but i cannot use it like store stuff in it or get the stuff of it. so i was wondering if i used this external hdd on a different computer, will it start working with all the stuff in it?

Do you have the drivers for it?

i think it installs by itself or something when i put into the usb port? unless your talking about i can go to the manfacturers site and get the drivers from there.

Do that, or use the CD that came with it, if it came with one.

i cant find the drive for it.. so thats the hdd i got... you mind helping me look for it?

are you using windows xp? so you have already stored stuff on the hdd right, so it does or did work at some point?
