Default unsure if this is HW or SW..

Hey guys, it seems my 7800GT is maxing the FPS on various games, since it wont go beyond it, like in UT2k4 max it goes to is 85, wont go beyond and will sometimes drop below 50, same with almost all of my games, heres my rig:

3800+ x2 amd

2 gigs x 4 512 sticks valueselect corsair

160 GB sata 7200 rpm

7800GT eVGA NOT OC ( but its a COSE that runs at 468/1097)

a8n-e ASUS MoBo

500W Antec dual 12v rail PSU

Thanks guys for any help.

I don't know the FPS max for these games but some are software limited. Half life, for example, has an FPS max of 60. Others, like quake 3 have no limits. ????? Are you "lagging"?
