Un-grounded case -> freezing issues?

Well they probably did, I'm not sure about before electrical applications were invented such as modern wiring ...however, one modern use is "lightning rods" found all over Florida. Want to know why so many down there ? Think about this for a second.....


.....ok, times up. It's FLAAAT down there, lightning has SO many choices to go to ground. This is why virtually every building down there has lightning rods. Also, skyscrapers do too for obvious reasons. It in itself is a giant lightning rod. So attaching one at the top assures it is diverted to ground.
