Troubles with dual monitors

I recently formatted my harddrive, and this is when I started having this trouble. When my computer starts up, either from a shut down or restart, it never keeps the setting for it to "extend my desktop onto the 2nd monitor". So everytime I startup, I have to check the box that says extend the desktop onto 2nd monitor. Why isn't it remembering this setting and how should I resolve this problem? (without taking off my 2nd monitor obviously)

do you have the latest drivers?

It's a Tyrics 19" LCD and their site says "Our LCD monitors are all Plug & Play and do not require drivers."

Also, just realized it also does it when I'm idle and I have to enter my pw to get back on.

I guess I'll go get the recent drivers for my x800pro, but I figured it was a monitor issue not graphics card.

OK, problem solved. The new 6.8 drivers worked.

the monitor is PnP but you need the latest drivers for the graphics card itself.
