Default Trouble detecting SATA harddrives

I was building my computer yesterday and couldn't get my sata hard drives to be detected at all so I decided to buy a IDE hard drive, which worked perfectly.

It turns out that I plugged into SATA RAID instead of SATA and now that I switched it over, it shows on NVIDIARaid utility on bootup but I don't know how to make it so that it shows up on BIOs and so that I can have access to it.

My MoBo is ASUS A8N-SLI, i'm not sure what other specifications I need to list. Thanks ^^;

I just finished getting over a very similar problem although my mobo is an ASUS K8V-X, either way the way I got around it was to put a jumper over the pins 5 & 6 (second in from left) on the HD and it showed up straight away for me

Hope this helps
