Lately my computer (see signature) has been acting fairly strangely. I have been able to boot up as normal almost all of the time, but a few times a year my computer is stuck at the splash screen, no booting windows at all.
What I did before:
Before I would usually disconnect and reconnect the hard drive a few times and after about an hour of futsing with the connections and such it usually goes on and boots up fine for a few months.
Lately, it has been happening much more frequently (although I can hear/feel the platters spinning) and I am not exactly sure what it attributes to. I have tried switching SATA cables to different ports of the motherboard and switching SATA cables all together but this has not worked as of late. I am guessing that it is due to a failing hard drive or bad motherboard ports. Any help is greatly appreciated.
