also, what is the diffrent from powermaxs low level format, to win98s format?

should i do anything else in powermax before doing the llformat?

and will i be prompted to choose between fat32 and ntfs when doing a llformat?

what the low level format does is writes every single sector of the drive with a 0 thus resetting the drive and having the whole thing as unallocated space then with the xp cd you create the partition and install the os on it.

the recovery cd from the other puter?

no recovery cd wont work. you dont have an opperating system for you new computer? might want to do that how else do you expect it to work lol.

well i wanted a ready system before getting it, but atleast the recovery cd worked to get to c: which i couldnt before, aswell as partioning and fdisk, so should i use that again?

i would go out and get the actuall OS now you can do all of the things necessary from the disk. first preform the lowlevel format then get the disk and i can walk you though that.
