Terabyte External HDD shows only 80gb free, only 250gb worth of stuff on it.. help?

Ok so on my western digital terabyte external HDD it shows I only have 80gb free, all I have on it is about 250gb worth of movies/music. Could this be because I have my windows image backup on it? MY computer backs up to my external every once in a while, but that folder shows 0mb of usage. Thanks for the help in advance!

are you checking it through windows explorer or disk management?

liek just when I go to start>computer it only shows 80gb free

oh wow I just found it... went to my backup and restore settings, 613gb for my backup.... no thank you lol

ok go to disk management run=> diskmgmt.msc and see if there's anything more you can find in that. also check for hidden files.

how did you set up your pc backup?
