Default Syncmaster 906bw

I just got this monitor yesterday... anyways my problem is that whenever i change any of the display settings through the monitor osd the whole screen goes black... but the power is still on (the on/off button still lights up).

Any help would be grateful!

Are you within the range of the Monitor? Meaning is the settings something that the monitor can display.

I changed the refresh rate to 70hz and it hasnt gone screwy on me in almost an hour (but you never know)... anyways i'm using it right now.

That's because the frequency at higher resolutions is not right. Since you changed it, all is good.

I'm thinking it might be a defective unit since i just tried raising the brightness and the screen went black again but if i leave it alone and not mess withe the default settings it works fine. I dont wanna have to go back to markham to get it replaced... took me forever to get there last time.
