Swollen capacitors

Whether or not this has been gone over or not:

Some random reboots are caused by swollen capacitors I have had alot of computers do the random reboot and one of the first things i check is the motherboard.
 
Not true, you can replace the caps. Match the specs, remove the old one and drop in the new one and solder it up
You just need some basic soldering skills and be very carful, but it can be done. I have a bunch of audio gear which has all surface mounted components, and yes I do repair them myself with success.

Awesome....yes that is true...spoken like a true Xbox modder!

i was actually trying to reply to hard ware tips but it got posted here instead
 
If you are replacing electrolytical capacitors make sure that you observe the proper polarity.
