Stuck on Bios

Hey everyone,
I have a Gateway PIIII with windows XP. The problem is that when I turn on the computer it get to the screen where it tells you if you want the bios setting to press F2 and it gets stuck right there, The whole computer locks up and you have to unplug it and restart it like 6 or 7 times and then it finally works. Any Idea?

Tried clearing CMOS by chance?

Yeah reset the Bios to default. Also if that dosent work go into Bios and go to the setting to pause on errors and select none.
