Default stress test

ok this is really ****ing me off...i spend $1400 on a new machine that keeps carshing....sometimes it works fine sometimes it crashes,freezes..i have no idea what the **** is going on..i tried upadating the drivers...scaning..benchmarking with 3dmark(which worked fine).but nothing worked ....
my last hope is an advice that i got from a friend to stress test my system ...he told me to use sandra...all tests finshed...but how is that suposed to tell me what wrong with it
