Strange video card noise

Well my video card is working fine, I have a 6600GT, but sometimes on a cold start up the fan will make a really loud reving noise. After ~30 seconds it slows down and eventually stops and doenst do it again until another cold start. Is this a sign that my card or maybe just the fan is getting ready to crap out on me? If so i'm going to purchase one soon so I'm not shafted if/when it goes out. I need an upgraded card anyways.

on cold boot there are no drivers running till it loads to windows and then the driver tells the GPU fan to slow down because the video card isn't hot so probably your fan runs full speed at cold boot and then decreases RPM once it sees the driver

one more thing, i'd open her up and clean out any dust in the fan and lube it up to run smooth
