As the topic indicates, I'm having a strange audio issue. I've recently wired the front panel of my case up to the motherboard, and it seems like it's working - the headphones and microphone jack both work.
The problem is a small one, but nagging - some sounds still use the internal speakers, sounds that shouldn't. The beep that the volume slider makes, for example, and the sound the Gnotify (the gmail notifier program) uses to announce an email.
Any idea what might be causing this? For the record, I have a Biostar I915P-A7 motherboard and I've tried reinstalling the audio drivers. The case is wired straight to it and I'm not using a sound card. The wires from the case are individual (not fused together in a single plug) so I may well have put them onto the wrong points, but now that the sound is (mostly) working I'm not too keen to go fiddling without being sure that that's what the problem is.
