Startup Slow

Hi guys!!

I am having a system with Media Center OS and 384 MB SD RAM. My system startup is slow but after the desktop appears, the system becomes fast. My processor speed is 1.7 Ghz, Intel Pentium 4.

Could anyone help me please.

How slow is "slow"? Is it slow during post? Or during the loading while it displays the Windows logo? You might have too many programs in startup...

The Windows logo takes some time to vanish and after clicking a user profile on the welcome screen it takes a lot of time for the desktop to appear.

Also, click Start - Run - "MSCONFIG" - Startup tab - uncheck everything but your antivirus, firewall, and broadband drivers (if you have broadband) - OK - Restart. Once the system comes back up, click "Don't run at startup" on the grey box, then OK.
