Standby help

I have had my PC for almost a year now, but yesterday I tried to put it on standby like I have done many times before and it goes into standby mode, then immediately starts up again and returns me to the windows login page. The only new hardware I have installed recently is a hauppage tv card, would that have made any difference? If so, does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix it?

Mine does the same thing, was never sure why and I never use it, so I didn't care. It doesn't matter that much does it?

I regularly use standby, so it does matter to me. It's not a major problem but I'd like to get it sorted out.
