Default Speakers Disable mouse PLEASE HELP

When I plug in anykind of speaker device my mouse is disabled. I have no idea how to fix this. I'm running xp.

Sounds like you may have a wire cross happening on the motherboard. Did you built this system yourself?

I would also look for updated chipset drivers and sound drivers.
