Speaker buzzes

What can I do to get rid of this really low buzzing sound I get from my speakers even when it's on mute?

most likely nothing as it is probably a design flaw in the speaker's amplifier, rather than anything related to your pc

Or...there is a poor ground, or you have a cell phone on.

The speakers themselves only produce what the electronics give them, so it isn't because of "crap" speakers.

As I said before this usually indicates a poor ground connection either in the electronics, or the cables.

Am I better off purchasing a sound card and new speakers?

You could try a sound card first, then new speakers.

Have you tried those same speakers on a television, or a radio?

well when I say "speakers" I mean the whole thing, amp, woofer, electronics, physical speakers... the whole lot.

Cheap "speakers" often humm or buzz

try lowering the volume on the speakers and compensate by upping the volume on the pc
