Sound not working ...

Ok heres the problem ....

I just built a new pc ... Im using Corys (pp_mguire) mobo and CPU ... He gave me the drivers cd, I installed everything correctly (so I htink) but I have no sound ... I have troubleshooted it and it asked me stupid questions ... Are ur speakers plugged in? ... ;/ yes they are ... but i have no clue wtf is wrong .. ive made sure that the onboard sound is enabled (I dont have a soundcard ;/ ) but nothing stilll .... can ne one help me please?!?!

g to control panel, and go to "sounds and audio devices"
check that it is actually using your sound card as the main sound device

so what exactly, in specific, have you done when troubleshooting your PC?
