Ok, so this movie that you "got", is what extension? .divx? .avi? Do you have any other videos of the same extension that work fine? If so, it could be a problem with the movie.

Now if this is an actual DVD, I shun you for winking at me like that.

So, do you have any other .avi movies? Do they work correctly?

What movie player are you using? You might want to try DivX or RealPlayer. If neither work, I'll try to help you find a solution. It's probably a codec problem.

Either that or you got very unlucky and your first .avi is corrupted somehow. If all else fails, download a really small .avi movie and try it.

Try Media Player Classic or VLC media player. Both programs can handle almost any media format known to man and/or machine.

I got it

I decided to re install DivX and it fixed it. Must have been a corrupt install
