Sound card trouble

In game voice is intermittent on BF2. If it works at all, it only works for a few moments and then its lost. I can hear Vent in game, I can hear in game sound effects. But I can neither broadcast or recieve IN-GAME voice. I suspect its the I/O sound card so I installed a sound blaster live pci card. The problem is, I cannot seem to find in bios how to shut off the onboard audio. My motherboard is an ASUS K8N. Suggestions?

you can shutoff onboard audio in bios.

well i know that, but there is no audio listed ANYWHERE in my bios. Im at a loss. its bios v02.54 if that helps.
