When I try to boot up my computer, it isn't loading. It comes to a screen Asking me to insert a Boot Diskette into A:/. I don't have nor know what a Boot Diskette is. I tried running the Windows XP install disk but it keeps freezing up when it asks to install XP or repair it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your hard drive is dead. Maybe. Test it. www.ultimatebootcd.com
Download it. Burn it. Throw it in and reboot. Hit F2 for Hard Disk Tools and then go to the next page by hitting right arrow and select F1 for Drive Fitness Test. Start it with ATA Support only, and run the advanced test.
That's a good place to start anyways.
