Default SLI for 2 screens

let's say i'm using 2 monitors, and 2 video cards so that one card outputs to one screen and the other card connects to the other screen. if i were to play a game which supports SLI, and obviously i'd be playing on only one of the screens, will both my video cards be used to run it? or will the game only use the one GPU that's connected to that monitor? i hope i'm making sense

It would use both cards, as long as they're properly SLI'd.

I think there is an issue with using two monitors with SLI, though.
