Default Sigh!

ok ive been having problems with my new comp so i did a fresh reinstall of everything

i installed fear ran it and got this error message when trying to adjust video card settings

warning!: The auto detect has detected that your computer may not have enough video card memory to be able to run at the current advanced video card settings and the selected resolution. maintaining this resolution may degrade preformance severley.

it stays like this on even the lowest settings!

Well what are your system specs?

Fear is a demanding game in general. And i'm pretty sure it's just like quake 4, ultra high settings requires 512MB of vid ram.

Back on being mobile - ASUS G551- 15.3" 1080p - Core i7 4710HQ - GTX 860M - 16GB DDR3 1600 - 512GB Samsung 850 Pro - Steam ID: TheOtis

If FEAR runs find on whatever setting you wont, Just ignore the message.

and no 512mbs of Vid Mem is not needed to run on Ultra settings. 512mb's would be Ideal, but not necessary.

iv tested a 128mb 6800nu AGP card in the past, and it ran Doom3 at /Ultra/1024x res/2xAA/16xAF... and The Timedemo reported = 65 FPS

My 256mb 6800GS on those exact same settigns, the Timedemo reports = 89FPS

so of course 512 is not necessary.
