Default Shut down computer automatically

Ive just formated my old IBM Aptiva and installed Windows XP. But when I shut down its got that message "You can now safety shut down your computer".
Is there a way to make the computer shut down automaticaly without having that message?

check the power options in the control panel. look through the tabs and make sure that APM (Advanced Power Management) is enabled.
