Haven't been able to get on all day..absolute nightmare!

I'm currently running on safe mode.

I left my computer on over night and when I went to open up Firefox this morning all of a sudden the computer just shut off and went blank. After about 10 second a bright blue screen came up with this on it:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: nv4_disp

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error, restart that computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check your hardware device vendor for any updates.

Technical information:

*** STOP:0x000000EA (0X8278D020, Ox82A87C50, 0xEC38FCB4, 0x00000001)

nv4_disp

Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.

Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.

I've just about tried everything, every time I restart it gets as far as me logging into my account and then it just shuts down again.

Anyone have any ideas what this is all about? I thought my computer was totally screwed but I can get it online on safe mode.

Thanks in advance, Parky.
