hello i have a hp pavilion laptop dv5000 series, i had it for almost a year now and just the other day i was on it the screen started to flicker a couple times. so i rebooted and it did not flicker for a day. but today when i turned my laptop on the screen started to flicker really bad and there where black lines going across the screen and the the image would fade in and this only happen when i power on. does anyone know what the problem might be?

Could be the screen is dying or the graphics card or integrated graphics is on its way out. You could try going to HP`s website and downloading the latest drivers to see if that helps.
My advice: less than a year old so still have a warranty on it, send it in for repairs.
