Screen Darkens

I have had a Dell Dimension XPS P133S for many years. For over 4 years the screen has darkened. This occured after removing one of my game programs. Any ideas on how to fix?

Adjust the monitor setting to brighter :\ ?
This is normal, after couple year this happens and theres nothing that can be done. Think of it like a battery
