says my dvd isn't in drive

hey guys, I have a problem that you might be able to help me fix, not sure if it's a hardware prob or a software prob. Drive works great for movie, music and so forth. but when I put 2 of my games in (call of duty 4 and 5) the little window pops up asking me if I want to play. I click on single playe/co-op and then it tells me that the dvd isn't in the drive. I go into my computer and it says that the dvd is there.

Any ideas?

Dirty disk ? Smudges, I mean, not prOn.

nope, cd looks brand new....the accual messege says"please insert the correct DVD_ROM, select OK and restart application

what OS are you on? try installing the latest patches. also you could try to find a no dvd crack.

I'm using XP Pro 64-bit
I have the latest patch for COD 5, just installed it today. and I looked for a no dvd crack, but the only one I found came up with 3 threats when I scanned it with AVG, so I didn't want to trust it

AV's come up with false positives for keygens and cracks all the time.
