I'm planning on buying a new Sata hard drive, for use as a principal drive, I am thinking of getting a WD cavair black, but while looking at my Motherbord layout I found that I had two types of Sata sockets, G Sata II and Sata, what's the difference and which one should my hard drive plug into???

PS: Will I have to make changes to my BIOS i.e create a RAID array to get my new hard drive to work, it will be the only hard drive I have installed and I plan to use Windows 7 on it

Try to use the regular SATA port, as the GSATA is a Gigabyte Sata controller, and is secondary to the other controller.

That, is what I can gather from a quick google search.

Also, there should be nothing that you would have to change in the BIOS other than your boot orders when the drive is installed, since there is only one drive, you won't be going into any RAID functions.
