Hello,

If your desktop has a SATA Connector it will be easy. Just plug in the drive. If not you will have to get a external encloseure that can do it. Ot get a adapter that goes from SATA to USB or somethign like that.

Cheers,
Mak

What do you mean "since it died"? The desktop or the hard drive?

One, if the hard drive died, plugging it into a laptop won't make any difference...

Two, if you plug the hard drive into the laptop SATA connection, won't your main hard drive be disconnected, with no OS to use to transfer the files? Windows is not transferable from one computer to the next. I have never seen a laptop with an external SATA connection.

Hello,

If the laptop hard drive did die. There is still ways to recover the data. Also if you notice i said get a coverter. I know they exist since i have one for each. A SATA converter and a IDE converter.

Cheers,
Mak
