sata drive not recognized

Hi,

I have an abit AN8 ultra mobo. It is currently not recognizing a sata seagate hard disk.

This is a new system build, specs are as follows:

ide2 ----> hp dvd +rw

Sata 1 --- > Seagate 160gb
Sata 2 --- > Seagate 160GB

evga 6800gt.. PCI


I've tried swapping the power and connecters between the drives. Thinking this might be a cabling issue. No such luck.

Any other ideas?

you need drivers to install a SATA drive. did your motherboard or hard drive come with any?

this hardware is doa....

The hardware was not recognized by the Motherboard. Only the first drive is recognized. Even after swapping out all cabling, only drive A is recognized. Drive B is on its way back....
