SATA Drive in 8200 Help

I bought a maxtor sata drive by mistake months ago and set it to the side now I need to put it in a Dell 8200. I have the adapter card and it won't let me make the drive the primary. How do you go about doing this?

I disconnected the ide drive hoping that would help me but it hasn't worked.

You need to go into your BIOS and set it as your primary boot device.
