Hi,

My Motherboard MSI 865PE Neo2 had a very noisy Northbridge fan. Now I have disconnected it from the mobo and I am wondering if it is safe to run without this fan. System temp is around 36 C to 40 C. Is this bad temp for northbridge/mobo?

I am planning to buy Zalman ZM-NBF47. Does someone have any experience with this passive cooler on this mobo or any other? Or some other passive cooler for Northbridge recommendations?

Thanks in advance!!!

most chipsets are ok running without a fan on the northbridge but if you're temps are up or you plan on overclocking then either a third party passive cooler or an active cooler is probably advisable.

You'll know if its getting to hot - your system will lockup and crash all the time.
