Restart Problem

I checked that random restarting thread and it didn't answer so here it goes.

In the morning I started my computer up, and went to work.

My mom told me she checked her mail, and didn't open anything other than that, and that she left my computer on; but when I got home it was off.

I just got my thermaltake giant II so I installed that on my video card (AGP) hook it back all up, start my computer up, everything starts up fine, but as soon as the desktop loads, about 10 seconds later, it restarts the computer with a click noise. The process was repeating.

So I swap video cards, to see if I messed something up on my install, to an older video card I had (PCI), and start it up, and it does the exact same restart thing.

For some reason, whenever I try to system restore (I figured I may as well try, just in case my mom did something and is lying) it says 'unable to system restore' no matter what point I click.

I can start it in safe mode for reason, so that's where I am now.

...and it's not fun.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Wow.

It seems my Mom must've downloaded some fake McAfee or something, because when I turned that off, it stopped restarting, and I stopped getting the pop-up from McAfee that said 'failed to update or something like that'.

I guess I just had to read the random restart thread a little closer ;)
