Rest my comp entirely?

Hi, I have Dell laptop, or my dad does and he wants to wipe it clean. But wouldn't it wipe off the actual applications on the computer unless you have the CD to reinstall everything. Is there a way to wipe it like he wants and not risk causing like the blue screen of death because I've wiped it completely clean?

If you reinstall Windows (i.e. wiping and starting fresh), yes it would remove all applications that you/he have installed. What version of Windows is on it?

Reinstalling shouldn't cause a BSOD...not sure why you think it would.
