By the way, the CPU shows up in the "Task Manager" working at full capacity because it keeps processing the instructions for that application and is going nowhere, like in an endless loop. Now that you mentioned Task Manager, open it and leave it on the screen and for a good period of time watch the CPU activity without doing anything, don't surf the internet, just leave it alone but watch the activity. Sometimes, if there's a virus or a malware running in your PC in the background, you'll see the CPU performance going up and down (all the way up to 100% and so forth) without you performing any tasks. Make sure you closed all the applications or little programs in the systray (lower right corner of your screen) Also, make sure that, if there's any CPU activity, is not the anti-virus or anti-spyware updating files or something similar.
