So I sat down today to put in my new CPU cooler and fix my cables. I also installed a new cooler on my 5770. After a lot of sweat and patience I was ready to boot my computer. Everything seemed to work fine until my screen went black and a red led on my 5770 started glowing. I tried to put it in another PCI-E slot but the same thing happened again.

Can someone help me out? What is wrong?

Did you put thermal paste on the GPU before installing the new cooler?

What 5770 do you have?

Yea I did, but I had a hard time installing the cooler. I put my finger on the copper base though and it wasn't hot so I don't think it's a temperature problem.

I have a XFX Radeon HD 5770 XXX 1GB GDDR5

the card has 4 lights i think, and each has a number next to it. check which number corresponds to the light you see and check and see if it says anything about it in the users manual or google the number.

It's the D4000 one, can't find anything about it though..
