Default Recovery Recommendation

Hey all I have a laptop hard drive that just crashed on me yesterday and there are a few things on there that i needed that i didn't get a chance to back up. I've tried mounting the drive, recovery software (many different types), and live CD (knoppix) to try to get to the drive but i think that the physical aspects of the drive are damaged. Can anyone recommend a recovery service to get my data off? or other ideas that i might not have thought of? thanks

Did you tried using Media Tools Pro? this is a very good software it is used by the FBI and other agencies to recover data when criminals erase things on the hard drives/
