Default Rebooting over and over

My computer reboots over and over and it's always right before it get to the desktop. Everything would star up but once it gets to the desktop it starts over.

My system it XP..... What do I do?

try safe mode , press F8 just before windows loads then select "safe mode" , if it will work in safe mode i need the logs from c:\windows\minidump to figure it out rar/zip em and upload to http://www.upload2.net and provide the link (that folder contains bsod logs, and by default setting windows is set to automatically restart on a bsod)

before it happen , did you do one of these?
1) installed some driver
2) installed new hardware
3) overclocked the processor

Check your harddrive IDE cable, that grey ribbon cable. If you count the line on the cable you will come up with 40wire. Hence the term 40-wire cable. Microsoft says you should replace it with an 80wire cable.

Heres the link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=297185
