Reboot/Restart Fails....Help

Hi,

I've just bought a new Machine (AM2 Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+, Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4, 1 x DDR2 2GB Kingston 667MHz, 320GB Seagate 7200rpm 16M SATA).

I installed Windows XP Pro SP2 on it, and it all works fine ... EXCEPT ...
whenever software requires a reboot or I select restart, it shuts down fine, but then doesn't restart ... however the power still stays on - i.e. fans still running, power led still on, nothing on the screen!! ...this also happens if I go into the BIOS - when I exit the BIOS - the machine fails to startup ... and like above the power is still going etc ...

Any Idea's would be most greatful...and I can't pull any more hair out

I've had this same problem a few times and I figured out what my problem was. I have my cell phone pluged into the usb port charging and it wont ley my computer completly shut down. Kinda wierd though.

That just sounds like your PC doesn't like to restart. I have this exact same issue with trying to put my PC into sleep mode... I can't figure out what it is either.
