RAW hdd, o noes

I had a 1Tb drive in an external enclosure, the power supply for it suddenly failing while the drive was in use.
So I took the drive out of the case, plugged it in to the pc, but when I try to access the drive I get the "This drive is not formatted, do you want to format it now?" message.
AUGH! I have a LOT of important data on the drive, none of which is backed up.

When I go into the drive properties the file system is RAW and the total drive size is 0bytes.
I tried running defraggler, which detected it as a 7.89Gb drive, but that failed outright too.

Any ideas? I'm going to try 'data recovery wizard' tonight.

Your best bet will be to create a partition, format the drive and use recovery software. That has been the only real solution i have found.

You might be able to mount the drive in Windows to access it in RAW format to be able to get some data off of it.

WOOT! cheers Mak, formatting the drive then creating a partition did the trick. After that the recovery software picked it up just fine, I've got everything back!
