Default Random reboots

My computer has been rebooting randomly a lot recently, and for some reason, BT, firefox and IE experience lots of random errors that close their windows. The re are no warnings prior to the shutdown and so half way through doing something the screen just turns blank and a few seconds later the boot screen appears. Does anyone know what is wrong?
