Hey everyone, im having some problems. first off is my gear. (my first build too)
AMD 1090T X6-was overclocked, only ran at stock clockage. paste is artic silver 5
2X2GB corsair DDR3 ram
Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5
EVGA GTX 470
CM 212 cooler
Coolermaster 1000w psu
WD 500gb hard drive
So what's happening is I am getting these lock ups at random points. It seems to be alot when something pops up. and it really likes to crash during downloads and when i get a new IM on facebook or something.
It locks up completely and nothing moves. no ctrl-alt-delete or anything. also occasionally it gives a horrendous shrieking sound through the headphones/speakers.
i ran a mem-test and it came back with no problems. i dont really know what else to try.
also- through the AMD overdrive it always crashes on the stability test.
i thought it may have been a driver problem, and accidentally i just wiped every single one of my drivers. of course as soon as i get it back up and running (no drivers) i open facebook and get an im and that same anoying sound and crash.
im sorry if im not giving alot of info, i really dunno what to give you guys..
any help is appreciated.
ill just make a list of things i remember you might need to know
-ive replaced the psu, when from 650 to 1000. no luck
-if its worth noting, the clock always gets reset
-its not heat, i have about 10 fans throughout my case
-ive tested both sticks of ram individually, both crashed
-all programs i use to record things on my desktop make it crash
-it LOVES to crash whenever im saving something. mostly when im playing a game
