ram issues

hi ran memtest today and it said that i have a bad ram module. i have 2gb or 4x 512 so i took all the dimm's out bar one and tried to run it again but i left if for 3 hours and it only got to coverage 0.3% in 3 hours so is there a quicker way of diagnoseing the problem. i told it to test 512 insted of all unused ram.

yep memtest works best if you let it run for a good 24 hrs
