I know what a RAID is, i want to know the type of raid array i should use.

It's tax season and uncle sam saw fit to give me a hefty return, I'am choosing some internal hard drives along with some other stuff for immediate performance on my pc, but, i said, why the **** not set up an array? 750 gig is to big, I don't want a mirror and stripe doesn't exactly do anything as far as performance on each hard drive. (seriously 3 hardrives at 7200rpms?)

so, my question is simple, which raid array should i use? I plan on buying atleast 3 hard drives. they will be sata @ 7200 rpms.

If you are getting 3 drives, go with RAID 5.

i agree because u have parities on each drive. unless u want Raid 4 but one of ur drives are going to be only parities and slower write rates.
