I just bought a new Radeon 9550 card today, which I managed to install without any issues. Unfortunately, now my computer is giving me all kinds of issues and I can't figure out how to fix it.
The problems started immediately after installing the card (so I'm sure that it's the source of the problems. The computer will boot just fine, but then things start going wrong.
Randomly (there doesn't seem to be any connection with the times it happens), the computer will either: shut off the monitor so I get a "no signal found" message; shut off the monitor so that I get an "out of range" message; turn the monitor black but it acts like it's still on; or restart the whole computer on its own.
I've tried reseating the card and reinstalling the software and drivers. ATI doesn't seem to have anything helpful on its site.

AMD Athlon XP (B) 2800+ 2.08 GHz Processor
512 MB RAM
Windows XP
