Hello,

Maybe he didn't do a proper full power cycle after upgrading the firmware, so in a way the installed firmware is dormant until this step occurrs... ?

problem: timmy has a FAT32 partition. he wants to use NTFS but does not want to reformat.

question: what can timmy do and what would be the positives/negatives if any of doing so?

Here's two for fun:

Question 1:
Jimmy inherits his dad's Dell laptop with windows 2000 on it. It's a Pentium III that runs fine albeit a little slow for Jimmy's taste. One day, the LCD screen goes completely dead. The laptop isn't under warranty any more, what should Jimmy do?

Question 2:
Suzie wants to go to her favorite website, HotOrNot.com and rate boys. She boots up the desktop but gets a "page not found error" from IE. Her dad works for Microsoft so Firefox isn't allowed in the house. Suzie knows that unplugging & replugging the DSL modem sometimes helps. She does it, and suddenly her MSN messenger signs in, but HotOrNot.com still gives her a error message. Troubleshooters?
